How the oil protects
  • Acids from hydrogen sulfide and halides
Pegasus 610 and 610 Ultra have a high base number that neutralizes acids; 610 Ultra also with high hydrogen sulfide levels.
  • Valve seat and face wear
Low-ash Pegasus 705 and 805 protect valve seats, and Jenbacher N Oil 40 limits valve seat recession.
  • Oil oxidation and nitration
Pegasus 705, 805, 1005 and 1107 resist oxidation and nitration, and synthetic Pegasus 1 lubricates beyond the limits of mineral oils.
  • Piston and liner scuffing
Pegasus 610 Ultra protects against scuffing with siloxane-containing gas. Pegasus 1107 is for engines with steel pistons and BMEP from 22 bar.

When to change gas engine oil? Test a sample

Sample analysis shows oxidation, nitration, base number and wear metals. You change the oil when it is needed. Order from OlejeSklep: natural gas engine oil analysis, biogas engine oil analysis. How oil analysis works

Questions before you buy

  • For natural gas: Pegasus 705, 805, 1005, 1107 and 1, and in Jenbacher engines also N Oil 40. Landfill and biomass gas with hydrogen sulfide or chlorine needs Pegasus 605 Ultra 40, 610 or 610 Ultra.

  • Each oil has its own approval list. Give us the engine model and gas type, and we will check.

  • An INNIO Jenbacher and ExxonMobil oil approved for all Jenbacher natural gas engines: Types 2, 3, 4, 6 and 9.

  • As much as the engine maker requires. Pegasus 1, 705, 805 and 1005 have 0.5% sulfated ash, 605 Ultra 40 and Jenbacher N Oil 40 — 0.6%, 1107 — 0.65%, and 610, 610 Ultra and 710 — 1.0%.

  • Sample analysis tells you the timing most reliably: nitration and base number show whether the oil can keep working.
